How to Make Chicken Biryani |chicken biriyani in rice cooker|Easy chicken biryani recipe

Marination—

  • 500-gram chicken
  • 4 tbsp curd or yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as per taste (I used about ½ tsp)
  • ½ to 1tbsp Red chili powder                                                 
  • ½ to 1tbsp chicken masala powder (adjust to suit your taste)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice (optional)
  •  ¼tsp turmeric powder/ haldi
  • ½tbsp Garam masala powder

Dry spices for Chicken Biryani—

  • 2 bay leaf or tej pattas
  • 4 green cardamoms or choti elaichi
  • 6 to 7 cloves or lavang
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick or dalchini
  • 1 strand mace or javitri

Other ingredients—

  • 3 cups basmati rice or chawal 
  • 3 tbsp. ghee or Oil
  • 3 large onion sliced
  • 1 big tomato chopped
  • 2pice of fried potatos (boiled before frying)
  • 3 green chili chopped
  • ¼ to ½ tsp red chili powder
  •  2tbsp biryani masala powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 boiled egg for decoration
  • 3 tbsp fried onions

How to Make chicken biryani recipe

  • First take 500gms chicken in a bowl.
  • Then marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste, curd, 1 tbsp salt, red chili powder, chicken masala powder and turmeric powder mix it, Leave it for 1hour
  • Wash basmati rice and soke for 15 mints then after 15 mints drain them to a strainer.
  • Now take a kadai , heat oil or ghee.
  • Add onion, chopped tomato, garlic, green chili and fry stirring of until they turn golden brown.
  • Add marinated chicken and saute for 5 mints on a medium heat. cover and cook on a low flam for 10 to 15 mints
  • When the chicken is soft cooked open the cover and saute for a minute to evaporate excess moisture in the kadai.
  • On the rice cooker pour the cooked chicken and spread it then add those fried potatos. After that spread rice in a layer over the chicken.
  • Pour 3 cups water to a bowl add 1tbsp salt and mix it and gently pour this mixture above the rice layer add the dry spices to temper Bay leaf, cinnamon ,cloves, cardamoms, mace and fried onion then close the lid.
  • Switch on the rice cooker and leave to cook
  • when the rice cooker will be automatically off,open the lid and spread 1½ tbsp ghee.
  • Serve from top to the bottom layer so that each serving gats biriyani rice  from top and chicken from the bottom layer
  • Enjoy the biriyani with onion raita and salad.
