Ingredients For Onion Pakoda—
2 large size onions
1 cup Gram Flour or Besan
2 green Chillies (Chopped)
½ teaspoon red Chilli powder
½ tablespoon Cumin powder
¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
Oil for deep fry
1 pinch baking soda
Salt as required
For Onion Pakoda Batter —
First of all slice the onion thinly and separate the layers add them to a mixing bowl also add chopped green chilies. You can also add chopped coriander leaves if you want.
Then Sprinkle salt evenly then add the spices cumin powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Then mix well everything and leave it aside for 5 mint.
The onions release moisture, add gram flour then add the required amount of water to make a medium thick batter.
Then Add baking soda stir the mixture very well with your hand. Now the onion Pakoda batter is ready.
For Onion Pakoda —
At first heat oil in a kadai for deep frying the Pakoda.
Then Add a spoonful of the batter, you can add less or more, do not add too many Pakoda in the pan, they should have some space to move around.
When the Pakoda is a bit cooked turn them with a slotted spoon and continue to fry.
After that Fry the Pakoda till they look crisp and golden transfer them with a ladle to an absorbent tissue placed in a plate.
